COMMANDERS MESSAGE
Although we reached a membership of 226 which was 100%+1, we did
not reach our goal of 110%. I thank all of the membership for their efforts.
There were five members transferred to "Post Everlasting" last year
and several who did not renew their membership. On the other hand we did sign
on several new members. This is a never ending assignment and we will have to
keep trying. Welcome to new members Michael Agosta,
Frank Baeli, Matthew Bauer, John E. Ganci, Dennis P. Grippo, Dwayne Pradt, Mitchell Radinsky, Jordan
Seibel, Miguel A. Vargas and Luke Walsh, who joined us this past year. Join us
at our annual "Post Picnic" and meet your comrades and their
families.
National has created a new website, http://www.mylegion.org./ look at it, take
the tour, sign on as a member and you can avail yourself of many services. This
site is free and has links to our post website and many others. We do not participate in the
area for paying your dues.

Longtime members passed away: Joseph Lomonico, June 02, 2010,
Orville Weed, June 27, 2010, Arnold Levine, July 11, 2010.
Long time Auxiliary member, Florence Langrehr
passed away June 29, 2010. We extend our deepest sympathy to their families.
SICK CALL
Member Jack Delaney is recuperating at home. Lou Ferreira and
Bob Ruffini have had medical procedures done. Lou is having ongoing problems
and we pray everything will be cleared up soon. Bob is recuperating at home.
Auxiliary member, Betty Cosentino had been
hospitalized in July but is now recuperating at home.

1.) Labor Day – Monday, September 6, 2010
2.) Hospital Party: Tuesday, Sep. 21st. Meet at the post at
6:30pm.
3.) Regular meeting: Friday, Aug. 27th and Sep. 19th and 24th at
8:00pm. 4.) Atlantic City Bus Trip: Monday, Oct. 25th, to Showboat. Call Bob
Ruffini for information, reservations and details at 201-794-8404.
5.) Veteran's Council Meeting: Monday, Sep. 13, 2010, 7:30 PM at
American Legion Post # 171.
6.) Auxiliary: Regular meeting Friday, Sep. 17, 2010 at 7:30PM.
7.) The Annual Post Picnic: Saturday, Sep. 11th at 12:00 noon
till 5:00PM.
CURRENT OPERATION NOTES
1.) ANNUAL POST
PICNIC: Saturday, September 11th at the post, from 12:00 to 5:00PM.
For details and reservations, call Lou at
201-796 - 4124. Price for the picnic is $10 for members and their sponsored
guests, $12 for nonmembers,
children under 12 are free. Reservations must be in two weeks in
advance. Please call early so we can plan for the quantity of
food and space needed.
We will conduct a short 9/11 memorial Service at the picnic.
2.) Bergen County POWIMIA Service - 7:30
Rochelle Park Post 170. Everyone is welcome to
attend.
3.) Bergen County
Military Service Medal, to be awarded to all honorably discharged members of
the U.S. armed services, current residents of Bergen County. An application
form must be submitted along with a copy of your DD214. Application forms are
available at your post.
AUXILIARY NOTES
1.) Our regular meeting will resume on Friday, September 17th at
7:30 PM.
